My Magpie Moment

The sparkle that caught my young eye was a Cartier Art Deco diamond bracelet worn by the great Tallulah Bankhead in "Lifeboat." She claimed it was her "passport" to a better life. "its gotten me everything Ive ever needed... until now." Stranded at sea and starving, she finally whips off the bracelet, ties it into a string, and throws it in the water as fish bait. In the last scene, a big fish comes up to swallow the bracelet just as you see a ship coming to help them. Afterwards, my response was, "I need to get one of those." So, even though my first bracelet was not Cartier, it was an Art Deco diamond bracelet, and I have it to this day. That's what propelled me to collect and find jewelry.
